Star Wars has been a part of my life as far back as I can remember, I was born in 1977, the same year Star Wars was first released, a coulple of year ago we shared our 40th Birthday in the same year, whenever someone askes my age my reply is always the same ... "I'm the same age as Star Wars", admittedly not everyone gets it.

My earliest memories of Star Wars are sitting in our living room with my older brother watching the movie on a projector, it wasn't the whole movie, just the best bits you could say, but back then that was all we had, eventually with the slow release of VHS we finally had the whole movie to watch.

My brother an I also had just about every single figure, vehicle and playset that was released, sadly only very few have remained with me to this day, I have recently decided to try and collect the vintage Star Wars toy range but to collect them in either mint or very good condition or even carded is beyond me so I just settle for what I can find.

I have recently got my hands on a vintage X-Wing, Snowspeeder and now a  Milennium Falcon, using my 3D printer I managed to print the missing parts for the X wing & Snowspeeder and purchased replica replacement stickers and I have managed to restore them to their glory, my next project will be the Falcon, I have already bought the replacement stickers, I now just have to replace a few missing parts and do a few repairs and it will hopefully look outstanding once again.

Being a fan of Star Wars has been a comfort to me throughout my life and I am happy that my love of the franchise has passed onto my two boys Charlie & Lewis, they have watched the first 6 movies with me from the moment they were born, I always had them on when they were babies and all through their early years, one of my greatest memories is sitting the cinema at Bluewater Shopping centre with my whole family getting ready to watch The Force Awakens on 17th December 2015, it was their first time seeing Star Wars on the big screen, THAT moment when the title appears on screen accompanied by John Williams iconic Star Wars theme, I looked at my two boys then aged 3 (Lewis) and 6 (Charlie) .... I can only imagine it was how I looked the first time I saw it, the smile, the look of excitement, I will never forget it. since 2015 we have seen all the Star Wars movies including the anthology movie Rogue One at the cinema, the only moie we missed was Solo and that was only due to us moving home at the time of release.

More recently we watched with anticipation when The Mandalorian began not knowing what to expect, we were blown away by just how good it was and we are counting down the days to the start of Season 2

**Update**

On the 30th October 2020 The Mandalorian Season hit Disney+ with a fantastic opening episode titled "The Marshal".

This Episode featured many nods to the history of the Star Wars franchise, most notably the armour worn by Boba Fett in the original trilogy movies The Empire Strikes Back & Return of the Jedi and ended with a cameo from Actor Temuera Morrison who had previously played the part of Boba' father Jango Fett as well as the army of clones in Episodes II (Attack of the Clones) & III (Revenge of the Sith) and well as providing the Voice of Boba Fett in the updated versions of Empire & Jedi.

Fingers crossed the series continues to surprise us with many more cameos or nods.

On November 4th 2020 Lucasfilm & Disney released the trailer for the Disney+ festive adventure STAR WARS LEGO Holiday Special which will arrive on Disney+ on November 17th 2020, the trailer looks hilarious and I can't wait for this special to arrive
